Versus asked:
I would like to ask if anyone owns a villa abroad: Why do some people advertise their villa (example – 4 bedroom) and then put a note right at the end saying the price is for 2 adults and to add £50 per person above that? It is so misleading, why would 2 people need a four bedroom villa? I looked at one which was advertised for £695 but for the correct occupancy of 8 (two per room) it works out at £995 – BIG difference! Why don’t they just advertise the actual rate? It is so annoying and also quite sly.

I agree, but I think perhaps it makes you look at the advert and not dismiss it straight away, some people might then still be tempted.
We own a villa in Florida and the price is for the villa whether it is for one person or 10 (the maximum we are allowed though babies don’t count). We average about 5 people. The prices are much cheaper than a hotel as it includes a private pool and spa. You will find that all US villas are quoted this way because that is the way they sell hotel rooms as well.
I own a Condo in Valencia, Spain.. it is about 2500 Sq. Ft. with 5 Bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms with a huge commercial grade kitchen and living area and a balcony with a great view of the old port buildings.. and cost me $1MILLION when I bought it about 4 years ago because it was before the building was built. The place has been open for 3 years now and paid for itself in the first year because of the America’s Cup being in Valencia… the Apartment rents for $10,000 PER NIGHT. It is in the rental fleet for 5 years, so I still have another 2 years before it is mine to use any time I care to use it…. and… to answer your question… NO… I have never stayed even one night in it because I won’t pay that kind of outrageous price to stay anywhere.
I consider it the best investment I have ever made.
