Cost of living on holiday in Italy?
andrewg2002 asked:
I’m going on holiday to Italy in September 2008 & I heard the country is very expensive for buying things.
Is this true?
I’m staying in a villa which is self catering! I’m also looking to explore in my hire car. E.g. Rome, Florence etc!
Thank You

Italy for sure is much cheaper then UK. Of course it depends on the area you are. In mid of Rome it’s much more expensive then in the region of Umbria. But that’s similar to UK (London compared to Gwynheddlugogleddyn), hein?
As you are a self-caterer you are quite lucky as food is excellent and not expensive. Only in restaurants it often costs a lot of money and sometimes seems to be too expensive.
If you have some spare time you can maybe visit not only Firenze in Tuscany but Siena, Lucca, Volterra and San Gimignano as well.
If there is some time left for hiking or cycling in the hills I could recommend Bagni di Lucca…
Much luck, especially in Rome you probably will need it…
