Every support doc. i’ve read, automatically assumes i have a Plugins menu in my WordPress blog after ‘Appearance’ and Before ‘Users’, which i can use to execute various code.

However i’ve been through my entire blog menu and i can’t seen to find the ‘Plugins’ menu.

I’m using a theme ‘cutline’ and am on a free account.

Also, i’ve tried to find out how to install plug-ins and couldn’t understand a word.

Does anyone have a step by step approach which starts from ‘Boot Into Windows’.
I’m on the WordPress.com account. Not WordPress.org.

What i’m trying to do is add ‘Google Analytics’ to my Blog. Does anyone know how to do that?

So here’s what’s happening: I’ve manually downloaded a wordpress plugin to my hard drive and ftp’d it to my wp-content/plugins directory for my WP blog. I should now be able to see it in my list of installed plugins, via the WP Admin Installed plugins page, but it’s not there. When I further investigate, I find that 3 of the php files for the plugin show a 0 for filesize. When I go back and check the original files in the plugin on my hard drive, none of them have a 0 filesize, they look fine. So my question is, what is happening to the files after I FTP them to my site?
I tried again, uploading one file at a time, using FileZilla. 2 out of the 3 files uploaded this time, 1 after 2 or 3 tries (first deleting, uploading, and then over writing) but one still shows a size of 0. It won’t overwrite, it won’t upload. I’ve tried several times now, and there are no errors. Sometimes you can see that the file uploads with the filesize then the filesize changes back to 0 after a split second. I then tried deleting the plugin directory via filezilla, then recreated the folder and added one file at a time. Most files uploaded no problem, then one still uploaded with the filesize of 0 again. I had to delete it, upload it, delete it upload again, uploaded with overwrite, still 0, then finally it stuck. I don’t have a clue as to why it’s being so fickle, but with persistence all the files are uploaded now.
Now the test is to see if I can see the plugin in the plugins admin page. Phewww! Finally, it’s there! What a pain!

I have a few plugins i want to install, but can figure out how to do it. Can i only install a plugin if the blog is hosted on my own domain, or can i install it if my blog is on the wordpress domain..? if so.. how?
